Discard or Keepsake: Capturing Ephemera in Graphite and Gouache

Join us on April 7th at 5:30pm at the Peter Bullough Foundation for a workshop with artist-in-residence Samantha Van Heest. Using a selection of discardable ephemera (such as produce label stickers, twist ties, wrappers, packaging, and more), participants will have the opportunity to study and produce these objects using graphite and gouache, creating their own still life compositions. Van Heest will demonstrate her process of sketching and painting using gouache, and will discuss her trompe-l'oeil approach to still life. Participants may bring their own ephemera for the workshop or use the ones provided by the PBF. RSVP is required for this event, refreshments will be provided.
