About the Event

Please join us on February 8, 2022 at 7PM for a virtual reading and discussion of the new book The Strong Black Woman: How a Myth Endangers the Physical and Mental Health of Black Women, with author Marita Golden and former PBF resident Sandra Jackson-Opoku. Golden's new book explores how the myth of the Strong Black Woman has come to negatively impact the emotional and physical health of Black women as they have shouldered the burdens and prioritized the needs of others. Registration is available here on the Peter Bullough Foundation's website; the event will be hosted on Zoom and streamed on our Facebook, live. Please email kmooney@peterbulloughfoundation.org with any questions you might have for these two authors or about the event.
